FAQ

Questions we get asked a lot.

General

What areas of Arizona do you serve?+

Primarily the greater Phoenix metro area — including Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, and surrounding cities. Reach out if you're further out and we'll see what we can do.

Is this a one-person operation?+

Yes. LoneKirov LLC is Kirov — one person with 30+ years of hands-on tech experience. When you contact us, you're talking directly to the person doing the work. Nothing gets handed off.

Do you offer ongoing support after the job is done?+

Yes. Most clients stay in touch for ongoing troubleshooting, upgrades, and maintenance. We're not a one-and-done shop — if something changes or breaks down the road, just reach out.

What are your typical response times?+

Quote requests are usually turned around within a day. For active clients with urgent issues, we try to respond same-day. Availability for on-site work varies but is typically within the week.

PC Builds

How much does a custom PC build cost?+

It depends almost entirely on parts. A capable office or everyday PC typically starts around $600–$900 in parts. Mid-range gaming builds run $1,200–$2,500. High-end gaming, streaming, or workstation rigs can go well beyond that. Labor is quoted separately based on complexity.

Can you help me pick parts, or do I need to come with a list?+

We handle parts selection from scratch. Tell us what you're using the machine for and your budget, and we'll put together a recommended build. No spreadsheet required.

Do you do upgrades to existing machines, or only full builds?+

Both. Adding RAM, swapping to an SSD, upgrading a GPU, migrating to a new drive — all of that is fair game. Sometimes an upgrade is the smarter move over a full build.

How long does a build take?+

Once parts are in hand, most builds are assembled, configured, and ready within 1–3 days depending on complexity. Custom cable management or advanced cooling setups may take a bit longer.

Cloud Storage

What's the difference between self-hosted and subscription cloud storage?+

Self-hosted means we build and configure a storage server on hardware you own at your location. You control everything — no monthly fees after setup, but you're responsible for the hardware. Subscription storage means your files live on our servers — you get secure access from anywhere without owning or managing any hardware. Think of it like a private, personal Dropbox that isn't Google or Microsoft.

Can I access subscription storage from my phone?+

Yes. The platform we use (Nextcloud) has iOS and Android apps for file access, automatic photo backup, and syncing. It works the same as any major cloud storage app.

What happens to my data if I cancel a storage subscription?+

We'll give you a full export of your data before cancellation so nothing is lost. Your data is yours — we don't hold it hostage.

Is my data private on the subscription storage?+

Yes. Your storage is isolated from other clients, encrypted, and not accessible to third parties. We don't sell data, run analytics on your files, or scan content.

Networking

My Wi-Fi reaches most of the house but drops in certain spots. Can you fix that?+

Almost certainly yes. Dead zones are usually a placement, hardware, or interference issue. We do a site survey, identify the problem, and fix it — whether that's repositioning existing gear, adding access points, or replacing equipment that's past its prime.

Do you work with the router my ISP gave me?+

We can, but ISP-provided routers are often the root cause of performance issues. If your current hardware is limiting, we'll tell you — and give you options, not just "you need to buy new stuff."

Can you separate my smart home devices from my main network?+

Yes. Network segmentation (putting IoT devices, guests, and work machines on separate virtual networks) is a standard part of a proper setup. It improves both security and performance.

DJ & Events

What types of events do you DJ?+

Private parties, birthday celebrations, holiday gatherings, weddings, corporate events, and similar. If you're not sure if your event fits, just ask.

What's included in a DJ booking?+

Sound system, lighting, and a wireless microphone — all sized and set up for your venue. We handle load-in, setup, and teardown. You focus on the event.

How far in advance should I book?+

As early as possible for weekends and holidays, which fill up fast. A few weeks out is usually fine for weekday events. Check the availability calendar on the DJ page for open dates.

Can I request specific songs?+

Yes. We can work from a request list, a curated playlist you provide, or let us read the room and build the set on the night. Usually a mix of all three works best.
